The Baltimore Equitable Society for Insuring Houses from Loss by Fire was founded on February 17, 1794.  The Company is the second oldest insurance company in the United States. The Company began trading as Baltimore Equitable Insurance in the 1988. Baltimore Equitable Insurance writes perpetual Homeowners, Condominium and Renters policies in Maryland and Pennsylvania.   What makes Baltimore Equitable Insurance unique is that they collect a deposit, provide insurance and when the insurance is no longer needed the entire deposit is refunded to the policyholder. Baltimore Equitable Insurance is non-accessible mutual company and has been a proud continuous member of MAMIC since 1984, when MAMIC was organized.
